Tired At Looking At My Mug

Oh, how I loved this soap except for the 1/4 inch of ash on the top. Grrrrr. I've never experienced ash before, so I really didn't know what I was looking at until I got all those comments. And it was a bit flakey.

I decided not to sell it to my wholesale customer and keep it for myself to sell to my customers at a discount.

So here they are uncut.

The scent is Ruby Red Rock Star and it smells great and the swirls are way cool. The ash on the top incorporates into the soap after 3 seconds of being rubbed under water. The bar just doesn't look perfect.

So instead of it being $6 we are selling them for $5.00. This is definitely a limited edition.

Catch 'em while you can on Etsy at my shop.

These soaps are beautiful and personally I don't care about the ash at all. The swirls inside are wonderful. I'm still trying to master in the pot swirl.

I like ash, it always lends to that handmade look. Your soap is beautiful!

These are beautiful soaps. Ash never bothers me in other people soaps as it is a mark of a tru handmade soap. Love the swirls xx

Your swirl is great & I especially like the two toned treatment to the top...ash...well, it is a mystery, & glad to say I have only experienced it a few times, the worst being a batch of lavender lemongrass. I just spritz w/rubbing alcohol, let dry & gone :^)

What beautiful soap! Ash is annoying, and quite a mystery...but I don't worry too much about it anymore. I've heard of the rubbing alcohol thing, but never tried it...

p.s. LOVE the changes in your blog's look! Very pretty!

You are too hard on yourself. Ash is like a coating of icing sugar, it's not harmful and as you say it is gone with the first use. But a great bargain at that price - swirls are lovely! Couldn't see them in your shop - have they sold already?

Aw, they're pretty. Who cares about soap ash, anyway? Only people who make soap know what it is, or worry about it. Don't be so tough on yourself in the future, lady!

Since this soap smells great, i would definitely like to try one.Everyone has own special “smell". No one should be aware of your fragrance unless he or she steps inside your "circle." Perfume should be one of the most delicate, personal messages you send to those with whom you come in contact.....

Spray a little isopropyl alcohol on top before you set your soap up to cure and forget ash existed :)
