I have had my issues this year between medical stuff and life (you know how that can get)... but listen, I am ready to bring it on.
What I'd like to do is start making videos of what I do in the lab. Tutorials, simply making soap, etc. I kind of have to figure out how to work a camera like Tiggy of Future Primitive and Celine of Soaperstar, but it can't be THAT hard, can it? I have no one to "tape" me when I formulate, so it may take a little time to get it right to where it will be fun to watch. I hate myself on video and photos, but I'm over it. I am 41 years old and who really cares - it's what I'm doing.
So there you have it. I will be attempting to video myself and bring to you some more content. I'd love some feedback, really. I need you to tell me what interests you. This is the busy time of the year for me, so I will be struggling to make my Christmas/holiday offerings but, I am committed to this blog and so my attempt at giving the time this blog deserves is real, a passion, a love.
Please leave your comments, as this will fuel me.
I love you
xoxo

Ohhh videos!!! I cannot wait.. and thank you for mentioning me, I'm rather shocked.
I bought a tripod to use for videos if there wasn't anyone available (aka I could make) to film me and I'm sure that'd work well.
I still haven't gotten over showing my face... being of a rather Rubenesque stature, I just don't want anyone to shout "fatty bo-batty" at me LOL.
Cannot wait for your first video!
oh my! That sounds so exciting I can't wait for the first video! I am sure it will be amazing.
I'm so looking forward to your videos. I started making videos a while back and it was really a stretch for me b/c I am a very shy person but it has really helped me to get over that a little bit. You'll do great and you have an audience already ;0)! A tripod is helpful. Very. I don't have one so I have to use one of my children ;0). Can't wait to see a video!
Blessings,
Lori
Videos would be a great thing! I'm always curious to see how other experienced people make their soaps. Layer, swirls, peeling soaps - there is so much interesting to learn.
I'm really looking forward!
Annette
I love watching soap videos. Look forward to seeing yours!
Videos! Yipee! So many of us are visual learners and you have so much knowledge to share. I love your ezines and will order every one you make available but their is nothing like watching exactly how to do a technique. You are so awesome...can't wait!
P.S. I will send you a pic of me in my soaping outfit with my hair all sticking up and you will feel a whole lot better about being in a video! Haha.
how exciting! please hurry, i can't wait!
have a good day :-)
sounds great! My favorite types of videos are those showing technique. For example, everyone swirls their soap differently even if they use the same recipe.
Do it!!! Videos are so personal and wonderful. I love seeing someone doing something they love!
How exciting and I'm looking forward to the videos. Everyone starts at the beginning before they become great at something so don't worry about your video skills. :)

How exciting! Love videos, can't wait! I don't have anyone taping over me either and the only way I can tell what I'm filming is by using my iphone which has a camera and viewing screen on the same side. And I was too cheap to buy a tripod for my iphone. So I shredded some soap and kneaded into a ball/pad and set my iphone in it. Hey, what do we the soapers have the most? Soap! Put it in use! LOL
YAY!!! I'm a beginner soaper and I LOVE tutorials especially from great soapers. I don't find too many on youtube so I would love to see you in the lab. I hope everything works out for you and I'm glad you're catering to your audience. Love the the blog as well best wishes!!!
Hi, I think it's great to do videos about the making of soaps. Each soap maker has its little secrets, so it will be interesting to see your tricks.
I hope it's a pleasant experience.
Greetings and see you soon.
Yay! I can't wait. I don't know how this would work in video, but what I really need is a good Q & A. I've been making soap for a couple of years now, but I still feel like a novice. I understand why people who make a living off their products need to protect their brands, but there are often times I just want a little advice about blending scents or improving my soap recipe or even a little encouragement to try something new (like goat milk or something). That's what interests me.
But honestly, I love your soap blog. I feel welcome and comfortable here. Thank you.
I cannot wait for the videos! Personally, I am interested how does your work space look like, how do you organize your supplies and materials, and later, how do you formulate, how big are the batches, some tips about packaging and wholesale... But also, funny experiences and personal insight in what make you go into the soap business etc. Many greetings from the Netherlands!
Bring it ! I learn so much from your blog I know I;ll learn tons more from your videos. YOU CAN DO IT!
Would love to watch you work your magic! Go Jo!
Do it!!! Then maybe I'll be inspired to try out the video thang too! :)
It'll be a hoot! Can't wait to see. You should see my 'set up'. It's a wooden key box (yanno...for putting keys in) with my digi camera on top. If you got a fancy ass camera (and I'm guessing you do) you'll have to find a better way of course.
I felt soooo weirded out doing the first one, but now it's easier as I have made friends and we all do it so it's not so bad anymore.
Keeeewwwwlll!
