The Soap Bar Give Away!

I've been wanting to have a give-away for a long time, but I have been so swamped I can't even believe it. I know, this is a luxury problem. Being busy is a GOOD thing and I have no right to complain, which I am actually not doing... I'm actually just giving a reason why I haven't run a give away in a while.

So, no more excuses!

I bought 2 great plastic soap molds to make life easier for me so I wouldn't have to line molds anymore. Brilliant! Well, these molds don't release very well with cold process soap. They really were meant for melt and pour, however, it isn't marketed that way, so perhaps I am doing something wrong. Really wrong. These molds are WAY durable, not flimsy like milky way molds. Oh no! Here is a picture, except these molds that I have are translucent, not clear as pictured.

This is what's up for grabs:

Two of them!

OK, so I used them once, but they have been clean and bleached, but if I didn't tell you, you wouldn't even know they weren't new.
But there is more!

I am also including: UPDATE!!!!!! ANNE-MARIE told me that these are one ounce bottles. I am so sorry. I eye-balled them. They look bigger than the one ouncers I have from other companies.

Forgive my mistake.

ONE OZ of Brambleberry's Raspberry Porter fragrance oil
ONE OZ of Brambleberry's Honey Ale fragrance oil
ONE OZ of Brambleberry's Pumpkin Lager fragrance oil

Also included in the prize is a perfume oil of your choice from my shop.

So here is what you have to do (yes, a little dancing for me). I'd like more soap makers to find out about this blog. Why? Because I think we benefit from each other. Not because I want to be popular. I keep learning from all of you. And I'll tell you, from the comments and emails I get, we are touching each other all around the world. Trust me.

So bring people here.

Leave a comment and if you bring someone new (by way of facebook or twitter or by telling your neighbor, I don't care how. No need to prove to me. Don't care...) Just tell them to comment and to mention that you sent them here. That will get you an additional entry. You can only get one entry by commenting, but you can get as many entries from comments of others that you send here who mention you.

Winner will be randomly selected on the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday November 24th.

Good luck!!
WILL SHIP ANYWHERE!

As a required form of entry.....
You have to leave a comment and share why you want or need Dr. Perricone's Cold Plasma. When you leave a comment please provide a way for me to reach you so I can contact you if I need to.
(US and Canada) sorry everyone else :(

They are giving away free samples of Cold Plasma to everyone. All the customers have to do is pay shipping ($4.95)! I know, but the product is free!

A little more info about the book, in particular as it relates to Cold Plasma... It is Dr. Perricone’s newest book, and will be on sale in September. The book talks about how he discovered the technology behind Cold Plasma. If you are interested in learning about the process, Dr. Perricone was able to isolate charged particles, suspend them in a highly absorbent and penetrative base for maximum absorption into the skin. He also discusses how the nutrients in Cold Plasma directly stimulate the precursor to collagen and elastin, glycosaminoglycans.

Leave your comment and good luck!!

EcoTools by Alicia Silverstone Overnight Bag - Another Give Away!

I don't wear a lot of make-up, but when I do, I insist on a good quality brushes to put it on. I have been using ecoTools for well over a year and I love them. The brush handles are made of bamboo and the brushes are made of taklon, a type of synthetic filament that is dyed and baked to make it soft. It also is absorbent so makeup adheres to the brush resulting in smoothly blended even finish. They also are great with powder (when dry).

This set includes a finishing brush, a blush brush, an angled eye shadow brush, a lash and brow groomer and the brush case, and I've been using mine for months and months. LOVE IT.

Apparently it is a limited edition, but it came out in December of 2009, and I don't know when they are discontinuing it. What makes the Alicia Silverstone different is the hemp bag. And that is what ecoTools will be giving away. No brushes included in the bag, but a case to fill your brushes and makeup and other fantastic goodies into for your summer getaway or night out.

This is the EcoTools by Alicia Silverstone Overnight Bag
We have three to give-away!

ecoTOOLS™ by Alicia Silverstone Overnight Bag (SRP $19.99): This large bag is sturdy and durable and features easy-to-grip handles that make it ideal for travel. The two interior compartments are removable and versatile to help keep contents clean and tidy.

With ecoTOOLS™ by Alicia Silverstone, it’s never been easier to be green and gorgeous. The collection, which features some of Alicia’s favorite flowers, offers sleek design, natural materials and fabulous functionality.

Available at Walgreens and Target stores, the line includes a complete set of five cosmetic bags, ranging from a brush bag with a brush set to an overnight bag. The perfect addition to holiday travel or a stylish stocking stuffer, each bag is produced with a natural hemp material and uses a recycled PET lining. Dr. Perricone Give Away Winner!

On May 24th, I hosted a give away for Dr. Perricone's Advanced Face Firming Activator and....

(by the way, retails on their site for $120 for 2 oz!)

This morning, I went to random.org which is where I go every time I pull a number for a give away because I don't want to pick one randomly. I like computer generated randomly chosen numbers because that way, there is no bias or mistakes on my part at all.

The results are (DRUM ROLL):

Teresa wins!!!!
Yay! I believe she just had a birthday, so this might make her feel better. ;)

Thanks to everyone for participating. I'm sure we will have more of these soon.

We'll get back to our normal soap programming shortly.

Dr. Perricone Advanced Face Firming Activator GIVE AWAY

I have a treat for you.

Out of the blue, an offer was presented to me to give my lovely, beautiful and heaven's forbid, possibly aging soap makers something for free. So, I figured, WHY NOT!? I will tell you about a product and you can try for the Advanced Face Firming Activator. You know how much this 2 ounce bottle is? $120.00.

Dr. Nicholas Perricone's line of products are pricey but his products have clout. He has quite a following, a medical background and extensive research to back up the cosmetic claims of his products and the anti-aging theories he speaks of.

I think the newest product that has been getting a lot of attention has been the Cold Plasma, which just sounds like I'd like to just dive into it. It sounds coooooool. To see Cold Plasma Reviews and reports on what results have been, you can check it out. Click the link.

To enter to win one bottle of Advanced Face Firming Activator (2 oz), leave a comment sharing why you want or need it.

Give away ends at 11:59 pm on June 1st. Winner will be announced on June 2nd.

One comment about why you want or need the Activator = one entry. If you twitter this blog post, leave a comment here again with your full twitter post. That will earn you an extra entry.

Open to people currently residing in the U.S. or Canada only. :(

Good luck! Look younger....

Delicious Give Away

This is a delicious give away that you are going to L-O-V-E. I received a bottle of the new Delicious Art Eau De Parfum Spray (3.4 oz) from DKNY that is sold out everywhere I've looked. True. It's currently unavailable at DKNYfragrances.com and at Sephora.com. I'm sure there are some places you can find it, but they are going like hot cakes. All the rage, folks.

DELICIOUS ART EAU DE PARFUM SPRAY
DKNY Delicious Art Eau De Parfum Spray
Retails at $70.00.

The DKNY apple is transformed into its comic counterpart, filled with ben-day dots and thought bubbles. The limited edition bottle is filled with Be Delicious fragrance. Take a juicy bite of a scent that is innocent, sexy, wholesome, provocative.

What a refreshing, sweet innocent scent! Apple-y without being so sweet my teeth ache and smelling like a teenager in Claire's. I am not big on perfume. It's usually too heavy or heady for me and it usually gives me a headache, but this one is easy to wear. The bottle makes me happy, too, every time I look at it.

OK. There are four ways to get an entry into this give away.

  1. Leave a comment along with your email address so I can contact you if you win (if you don't want to leave your email then you must check back after I post that you've won or you forfeit your prize and I will pass the winnings to the next person)
  2. Twitter about this give away with a link to it, then come back and post that you did just that...(leave your link)
  3. Blog about this giveaway and come back and post that you did just that...(leave your link)
  4. Facebook. Tell all of your friends there, too. Let me know.
The winner will be chosen on Friday afternoon, August 21st (3 days!).

1.2.3...go!

Cereal Challenge Results

If you didn't get a chance to read the
Cereal Challenge feel free to before reading the results.

You all did SO well and I give you a gold star and an E for effort. Since the challenge, I added Honeycomb to my pantry, because it was calling to me the last time I shopped.

I'm a health nut. I know.

The results are in:

1) Frosted Flake

2) Grape Nut

3) Organic Clifford's Crunch (no one in this house likes these, so I'm eating them)

4) Rice Krispie

5) Cheerio

6) Fruity Pebble (awful-this was a moment of giving in...choosing my battles as I say with the 8 year old in tow)

7) Corn Pop (aka sugar pops -Karyn remembers)

8) Organic Wild Puff (my kids love these!)

9) Cinnamon Toast Crunch

10) Kix

So, who came closest?

  • Leslie with 8 correct
  • Marr with 8
  • Heather with 8
  • body natural soap with 8
  • Crystal with 8
  • Stickygooeycreamychewy with 8
Since no one won the challenge and there is a 6 way tie at number 8, I'll have to start a new game and give you all another chance at some goodies.

I'll try to think of another challenge.

Thanks for playing...it was too much fun for me. My favorite comment was from Crystal:

"Okay, here's my last try. I went to the store to buy cereal today and ended up in the cereal aisle for 15 minutes trying to find these."

Now THAT is a true competitor!
