Exfoliate Exfoliate Exfoliate!

I've always loved the scrubby manliness of an exfoliating bar of soap.  Something so perfect about scrubbing the dirt off my skin that makes me feel extra clean and feeling refreshed.  I think the only scrubby soap I did not care for was luffah soap.  I felt like my skin was being scraped off with razor blades.  And I like my soap rough, too.  Ground coffee, sand, volcanic rock, whatever....but you can keep your whole loofah and razors.  It's just not for me, thank you.

SO I've been looking around at exfoliating soaps, loving the texture of seeing them, being that I don't really have them in my hands right now.  So I have to imagine.  SO my imagination brings me here....to soap porn...which I share with you lovelies...

Shieh Shieh Shieh

Emily Evily, of Shieh Design Studio, sent me soaps many months ago, before I moved across town...only to have to wait ions for my soap review.  It has been a stretch to keep up with reviews, as the move, life, kids, new puppy and restructuring my entire company has been eating up all my time.

But she deserves this, because her soaps are so fine.  And gorgeous.

Gelato Twist Soap

First of all, Emily is an artist and every bar she produces is a work of art.  I'm not really sure how she does it, because every new soap of hers that I see tops the last one.  How is that possible?  Because she is a true artist.

The soap:  I took that baby in the shower with me, and it performed with lovely lather and silkiness I hadn't expected.  The blended fruity scent was not overpowering but gentle on the nose.  I'm not a big fan of overly scented soaps, so I was very pleased to be in that shower for a good 20 minutes.  The soap left my skin nourished and clean.  Just the combination we all hope for in a bar of soap.  Not tight and dry.

With the bar wet and rubbed out a little, the swirl design popped and I could see the delicate nature of the soap.  Three or four colors, gently co-mingling together and perfectly swooped with such a delicate nature.

You can take a look at some of her recent works of art at her shop, but here are a few of my faves:

Teakwood Cardamon Buttermilk Banana Soap  (YUM) I want this one!!

As you can see, the all look scrumptious and sound heavenly.  Every ingredient, every nook and cranny...all make for a luxurious experience.

Thank you, Emily!

Snow Falls Here

Snow Falls in North America...
Here are some pretty soaps I found while sipping on warm coffee.

scent of fresh snow, festive lights, cozy winter spices and caramelized fruits.

The 3" snowflake sits on a bed of snow (also made soap, unscented) inside a lovely transparent boutonniere box.

There is a homegrown nasturtium flower pressed in the top of the bar.

Basmati Rice is aromatic, sweet, a little earthy.

A crisp essential oil blend of Peppermint, Spearmint and Pine, Lavender, Sweet Basil,
Rosemary and Lime add a smoothness that makes this the ideal holiday blend.

Thank you to the artists for their creativity so that we could rest our eyes on something unique and beautiful today.

Magic Hands Soap Porn

Jackie, of Magic Hands Workshop, makes beautiful soap and has been since well before I started a couple of years ago. Sadly, I have never tried her soap even though I have been drooling over her salt bars for years. She is one soaper who always has a variety of salt bars available to her customers and they are always cut beautifully, never imperfect like many of mine and many others I have seen.

Magic Hands used to run their business out of California and now out of Pensacola, Florida. Too bad that is still like 8 hours away from me, or I'd go have a soapy pow wow with The Magics. A meeting of the soap pots. Oh what fun we'd have! Jackie writes a funny blog which I visit often, but is rarely about soap, which I like even more ;). She has a great sense of humor so I think we'd get along really really well. I get her.

I thought you'd like to see a small gallery of her soaps, so I bring some to you. It TIS my job as The Soap Bar lady. To see her entire collection, go to her Etsy shop here. You will see all her creations.

It's true that she makes other things like lotion and bath bombs and lip balm, but you have to forgive me for focusing on her lovely soap. They are just so lover-ly..... :O)

Hi Jackie!! (((((waves)))))
luvvvz the soap!
