Sherpa Sherpa?!

We had a little contest over at my company blog: Product Body + Absolute Soap Blog.  We make a creamy, vanilla, amber shea butter soap and before today it was called Ambre de Nepal.  We thought it was a little too hard to say and remember for our customers.  And it didn't "fit" in with our company.
Because of this, we had a contest to see if our readers would help us re-name the soap.  The person whose name we chose to name the soap, would win a bar of the soap.  Well, my husband and business partner, Brad Schmidt, had way too much fun today coming up with names, and one stuck.
 Sherpa Sherpa
we have a winner!
UPDATE: we have a winner: Heather!!!  Sherpa Sherpa was inspired by Matt Stone and Trey Parker's movie Team America -  "Derka Derka!"
Now, for those who may not know our humor, you may not figure it out.  You also won't figure it out if you haven't seen a particular movie, so... let's just say our inspiration was in the comedy movie genre.  No more hints!
Go to my biz blog and guess away!  The first person who guesses our inspiration/reference will win a bar of Sherpa Sherpa (amber vanilla shea butter bar).
No one has guessed it yet! ;)
Good luck!
xoxo Joanna

FLOAP Soap

Vegan FLOAP by Gudonya (pronounced good ON ya).

Unfortunately, I didn't photograph my Floap before I used it, but this is what it looked like except that the chunks embedded in the top of mine were pink. My bar is called Chocolate Truffle Razz. The smell really smelled truffle-like and the texture was light and fluffy, but not soft. I felt like if I wanted to I could smoosh my finger through it. It reminded me of fudge. I love the whipped soap thing, though. It is so unusual and a very different experience in the shower.

The first time I entered the shower with my Floap, I rubbed it on my wet skin as I do with any bar of soap. But some of the raspberry embeds crumbled right off. The funny thing is that my lip actually went out to pout (if you can imagine my sad face pouting because 2 raspberry floap bits scurried down the drain). Some exterior crumbles began to happen and I was sure that my bar would disintegrate and that would be that for my Floap experience. But NO, wait. I think it needed to get more wet and become accustomed to me. After the exterior disintegration issue that lasted a whopping 20 seconds, it was over as quickly as it started. My Floap was intact and ready for the cleaning challenge. The smell was chocolate truffle with red raspberry notes. A dessert shower treat, for sure. It was pleasant and not overwhelming and it felt so smooth sliding across my wet skin displaying the perfect amount of lather and lovely slip. My first shower was a success once the "issue" we had resolved itself. The next 2 showers were perfect and smelly good. Unfortunately, my bar is going quickly. Physics would state clearly to me that if you whip a bunch of air into a bar of soap, the density (or lack of) will keep it from staying on this earth for an extended period of time.

My daughter really wanted to be in the picture with the soap, so the soap picture below demonstrates the bar after 3 showers.
This is the next one on my list to get: Cow-Ma-Flage™ (vegan) by Gudonya. It looks like it would be licorice, but it is red clover: a "surprisingly simple blend of sweet, herbal clover and a smooch of berries. It's not real berry-sweet, though."

Go shop for Floap. I highly recommend it, just understand it is a bit temperamental for a few seconds at the start. Kinda like when dogs first meet and they are both alpha males.

Bulldog Soap

Bulldog. I love that name! This is not pet soap, however.

Kathy and Mark Trotter own and run their little soap company in Delaware, Ohio: Bulldog Soap. Their children had grown up and with their house quiet, decided to find a creative outlet which they both found in soap making. Lucky for me because I wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting them. :)

I was sent two very cute soaps. Their most popular scent in their collection is the Cinnamon Spice, which brought me to a warm holiday place. I also received thier Almond Joy. Both of them smell great! I have only bathed with the Almond Joy so far. After being bubbly in the shower, I pushed the soap up to my nose (as I always do...) and it smelled a little like Almond Joy and a little like marzipan, which I also LOVE the taste and smell of. Yum. The bar had cut edges instead of smoothed ones, so I had fun breaking the soap in. Wash wash wash.

The soap cleaned me nicely washed off cleanly and the smell was not overpowering, but had a nice balance of scents playfully bouncing about the shower with me. The lather was not as copious as I prefer, but lather isn't everything. I quite like Bulldog Soap.

Good for Mark and Kathy for starting this business once their children flew the coop! I find husband and wife teams so interesting as I am in that situation myself. Working, playing and loving the same person all day and night is wonderful but also has its challenges. It works for my husband and I because we are so so different in many ways: processing, critical thinking, creativity, number crunching....oh you name it, if one of us can't do it, the other one has a way. A method. An idea. Anyway.....

Cheers and thank you Kathy and Mark for the lovely soaps!!
