Espresso Turkish Mocha Soap

Turkish Mocha Espresso Soap

Keeping in mind that I need espresso to wake myself up every morning (2-3 cups!), I thought I could make a morning shower delight for myself and others.  Here is my attempt.  I'll cut the bars tomorrow morning.  Hopefully, the soap comes out okay.

Absolutely gorgeous Joanna! Is it Brambleberry's Turkish Mocha? I love the stiff white peaks (looks like foam) with the cinnamon sprinkled on top, just like going to Starbucks! Is it a layered soap? I can't wait to see cut pictures tomorrow.

Yay, Joanna! It looks great! Are there any layers or surprises in there? I wish I could smell it. :)

Hey Sudsy! I did not layer this time. I did straight up coffee soap. The sprinkles are finely ground espresso, which I also mixed in the vat. Yes, BB Turkish Mocha and real espresso. It set up FAST! We'll see how it works out.

I am still confused with how much scent to put in my soap batches. Any basic suggestions?

It reminds me of the snickers cooler I buy at caribou all the time. Yummmmm! I love the little sprinkles on top - a very nice touch!

It's lovely!
About the amount of scent for soap batches, the general consensus seems to be .7 oz per lb of soap that you are making.
Sometimes you may have to use more or less depending on the fragrance oil!
Sure hope that this helps!
I have been wanting to make a coffee soap with coffee butter and caffeine.
Need to put that on my To Soap list!
Have a wonderful day!

I've been fairly standard about my fragrance oils, using 4-5% of the amount of oils in my batch. HTH

i'm a 4-5% scenter too, but YMMV with FOs.
the coffee soap log looks gooooood and i hope we see sliced bars soon!

hi Joanna,
Your soap looks beautiful! To answer your ? about scent, I too made espresso soap, and used fresh grounds, coffee butter, and subbed out the water for half double-strength espresso and half French Vanilla coffee creamer, so i didn't use any scent. it was an experiment and it smelled (still does after several months) wonderful! :)
can't wait to see yours all sliced up!

I'm very scientific in my fragrance calculation: 1 oz. per lb. :)

lyly, I clicked on your name, but "no access". Do you have a blog? I'd love to see pictures of your first soap batch! Sherrie G did a wonderful cold process tutorial if you are interested and Gracefruit did a hot process tutorial.

Everyone else?

You are fabulous and funny!!
