Delirium’s Scarlet Grapefruit scent, to me, is masculine and evokes a vintage era. Can I start with the box? I loved the packaging of this candle. It is modern and the box is beautiful and reflective. Perfect for a gift for him or her. Open the box and I smell this citrus cologne, so delicate and beautiful. I don't know about you, but an overpowering scent for me can lead to a headache, and yet I do not want a wimpy scent, either. This soy blend candle is poured into a silver mirrored container. Once lit it throws a light and graceful blend of scents. It burns wonderfully with no black smoke or discoloration in sight. It is a slow burning candle, and I have enjoyed this scent throughout my home. It has evoked in me a silver screen.

Quite frankly dear, I feel like an old Hollywood movie star when burning Scarlet Grapefruit.

You Light Up My Life

I got the most beautiful soy candle recently - a Chesapeake Bay candle which came in a tree motif gift box and the filled candle jar was silkscreened with the same tree motif design. So, before I even lit my candle, I felt as if I had been pampered like a Queen and the room that the candle occupied was instantly opened up, possessing a slice of zen, feng shui... peace. I had no idea a fancy candle would give me that much pleasure before I even smelled it, much less LIT it.

This is what they say about their Green Bamboo Jasmine fragrance:

This lively and alluring fragrance emerges with sweet fruity notes of cherry and orange enhanced by watery green nuances. Fresh bamboo mixed with floral touches of jasmine and muguet complete this charismatic scent.

That pretty much sums it up. I don't have the sophistication to tell you I smelled the notes of muguet. I CAN tell you it smelled lovely. I smelled the jasmine with green fresh hints and in general, the candle scent was not overwhelming at all, but the scent throw was great, it burned evenly and made the place smell yummy.

This is a 7 oz. soy candle, which is actually handpoured, the burn time is 35 hours, it has 100% cotton, lead-free wicks, it comes in thick decorated glass and a thick decorated box for only $20.00. That seems extremely reasonable. I thought such a large company wouldn't have these candles handpoured, but indeed, they do.

The next ones I'd like to try are the Citrus (Honey Lemon Creme), Gourmand (Amber Vanilla Hazelnut) and the Fruit (Tonka Bean Fig). Yum yum yum yum.

Barcelona Bath and Body

Rachel Lane, owner and creator of Barcelona Bath & Body, recently sent me a package with two identical hand soaps: The Hand Soap Duo, in Coconut Bay Rum scent. The first thing I noticed was that the bars of soap were imprinted with the company's beautifully designed logo. Looking at the imprint made me feel as if I was holding a piece of art and that also looked surprisingly like yummy chocolate. I really felt, right off the bat, that Rachel knows her stuff. The branding and presentation is not just professional, but creative and soothing to look at as well.

The package sat on my desk until I could get to it, and it scented my whole office with a mellow coconut, nutty, rummy wispy scent; An unexpected combination of smells. Well, it became too irresistible that I had to find a soap holder for the sink and wash my hands before I went mad! It almost was a shame to use the perfectly imprinted bar that resembled a milky chocolate treat, but I wet it and started washing. Mmm...very soothing. The bar was so smooth to the touch on the un-imprinted side, I rubbed it for quite awhile. The smell was not overbearing or spicy at all. I sort of expected a tropical scent, but it was more down to earth and unique.

The lather was lovely and the rinse was perfect. After drying my hands off, I smelled my skin and the soap left a faint coconut bay rum scent which was very nice.

Barcelona offers handmade soy candles, soap, sachets and Room Refresh room spray. Everything comes in five scents: Coconut Bay Rum, Vanilla Lavender, Grapefruit Ylang Ylang, Cinnamon Sandalwood, and Lemongrass Fennel.

Look how cute these little candles are! They look like frosted tall shot glasses. I can close my eyes and imagine them all around my tub. I'll have to get some of those. Every product I look at on their website looks soothing and warm to me. The colors and textures are easy on the eyes.
